Amara Moon - A Forest Wellness Sanctuary in Hout Bay

Tucked into the lush Orangekloof Valley of Hout Bay, Amara Moon is an intimate private wellness sanctuary where nature, movement, water and stillness come together. Surrounded by trees, mountain air and the beauty of the Cape landscape, the space offers a rare sense of seclusion on the mountain, whilst being just minutes from the ocean. Designed for meaningful connection and deep restoration, Amara Moon is a beautiful setting for intimate retreats, workshops, ceremonies, wellness days and gatherings. The atmosphere is warm, earthy, peaceful and intentionally connected to nature – with spaces to move, gather, soak, rest, dine, reflect and simply be.

Our wellness facilities includes an infrared sauna, saltwater swimming pool, hot tub, cold plunge, outdoor hot-water shower and outdoor bath and indoor yoga studio creating the perfect environment for retreat programmes centred around nervous-system regulation, movement, embodiment, integration and relaxation. Our wooden open air yoga deck and workshop space can be used for yoga, breathwork, meditation, movement, sound journeys, ceremonies, star gazing and intimate group experiences – either immersed amongst the trees or outdoors beneath the sun and stars.

Guests can also gather around the fire pit, relax in the hammock grove and day bed or share meals in the beautiful nature dining area. The property includes an outdoor kitchenette with sink and facilities, making it easy to create relaxed communal meals and retreat experiences that flow naturally between practice, nourishment and connection. What makes Amara Moon unique is the feeling of having a private retreat within the forest. Rather than moving between separate facilities, the entire experience unfolds naturally across one beautiful space from morning movement on the deck, to a saltwater swim, sauna or soak, shared meals beneath the trees, sunset around the fire and quiet evenings under the stars. Amara Moon is ideal for small, intimate retreats and gatherings led by facilitators who value beauty, nature, connection and depth.

We also welcome carefully selected private events, including intimate celebrations, birthdays, engagement gatherings, bachelor and bachelorette experiences, brand and creative events, wellness days, film/photography shoots and small corporate off-sites.
